CONCESSIONAIRES
The Community Center
works with 5 concessionaires
Inside our Building we offer
a hand maid and painted gift items from artists around the
island.
From Tiles, Pottery, Water
Color Paints to great designs in Pewter.
We also have an alteration person available for
you:
Tues-Sat from 1pm to 4:30pm
She does alterations, new clothing, military insignias and
ironing to name a few.

Lajes silver shop (gift shop)
Don’t let the name
fool you, there’s more in this gift shop than mere Silver.
The Silver Shop is one of the Community Center concessionaires
and awaits the costumer curious enough to enter, a variety of
gifts such as hand painted blue ceramic dishes, wooden chests,
hand made baskets, embroideries, clocks craved from volcanic
rock and you can find some souvenirs from other islands.

Mon-Sat from 9am to 8pm
Sunday from 10am to 5pm
Closed on local national holidays

FLEA MARKET
We
offer a flea Market every 3rd Saturday of each mouth
at the Youth Center Gym T-240 from 11am to 2pm.
Tables can be rented for $15 at the Community Center at least
two days before the event.
We
have an average of 300 people per Flea Market.
It’s a good program not just if you want to sell, but you can
find really nice stuff for a few bucks.

FREE WIRELESS
INTERNET
The Community Center is offering free wireless internet access
to everybody on base; we have an average of 3500 log-ins per
month.
Twelve stations are available to surf the Internet, check
e-mail, do your homework and shop online.
We
also have a printer and a copier machine that you can use.
A
vending area is available with a variety of snacks and drinks.

“XBOX LIVE”
Four Xbox game stations and more than 50 games are available for
you to go online and play friends around the world.
Lajes is one of the first Air Force bases to receive a networked
video game room.

“GAME ROOM”
The game room offers our costumers a variety of activities and
monthly tournaments like pool, chess and ping-pong.

RESERVATIONS
We
have tree rooms and an outside park, tables and chairs that are
available for you to reserve them if you’re planning a
get-together like squadron or personal parties, barbeques or
meetings:

Ocean view park “outside”
Those rooms, park,
tables and chairs are reserved on a first come-first serve
basis. The fee for the rooms
is $10 per hour The Ocean View Park,

The Community Center organizes about 12 Armed Forces
Entertainment, DoD shows annually and the
Tops In Blue Show.
We
offer seasonal activities for example:

many more.

SUN &SAND HUT
IT’S ALL ABOUT
YOU
The Sun and Sand Hut offers a place to relax and have fun that
no other place on base does. We
also accept reservations for events and parties.
We
have pool, ping pong; air hockey, playstation 2, arcade games
machine (Time Crisis 3 and Basquetball Shot), karaoke machine
and a Theater room were you can watch one of our 72 movies for
free. |
